The lotus paintings were done on commission for a wedding gift. Each measures approximately 10"x10".
The lotus flower (L. nelumbo nucifera) is an aquatic perennial and greatly important to the historical and religious traditions of India, Vietnam, China and Japan. In Buddhist iconography, the Buddha is often depicted on a pink lotus. Lotuses are used throughout the world for decorative flower arrangment, cuisine, and herbal teas and medicines.
